Show Up, See What Happens

This week alone, I connected with people from the last five companies I worked for. Some I’ve known for over 20 years.

This past weekend, my wife and I spent time with four of my high school friends and their spouses. Next month, I’m playing golf with guys I grew up with in the 1980s.My boss at Kahua and I have known each other since 2007.

Look...we go through life TOGETHER, and it happens by consistently showing up for one another. Tiny actions, done repeatedly over time, lead to deep, meaningful friendships.

Be selfless. Be sincere. Be generous. Be real.

Every week, spend 30 seconds to 2 minutes doing any of the kind gestures below. The return is priceless:

- Wish 'em a Happy Birthday
- Send a thank-you note
- Broker an introduction
- Give a LinkedIn shoutout
- Recommend them for a panel
- Share a relevant article
- Leave a thoughtful comment
- Invite ā€˜em to an industry event
- Refer them for a job
- Review their resume
- Gift them a great book
- Celebrate a work anniversary
- Ask about their family
- Leave a glowing review
- Share their business page
- Text ā€œgood luckā€ before a pitch
- Send a quick voice memo
- Compliment a big win
- Ask for their opinion
- Buy 'em a cup of coffee
- Celebrate a product launch
- Help prep for an interview
- Nominate for an award

The love, joy, and recognition THEY get from YOUR actions? THAT'S your reward. The little things become the stories we tell for a lifetime.
